The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has unveiled images showcasing the latest surveillance of the American helicopter carrier fleet in the Strait of Hormuz, captured by the IRGC Navy’s monitoring and control systems. These images were displayed at the 24th assembly of senior IRGC Commanders.
Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the IRGC Navy, provided an explanation for these images, stating that the Iranian Zulfiqar brigade successfully halted the flight of American helicopters from an American helicopter carrier. During this surveillance operation, an American helicopter carrier attempted to launch a helicopter, but was forced to land it after receiving a warning from the control band of the Strait of Hormuz and after the presence of IRGC Navy vessels.
The commander further added that in another incident, IRGC Navy vessels successfully pushed an American aircraft carrier 180 miles away from Iran’s territorial waters. He also mentioned that the speed of the IRGC’s speedboats has now reached 90 to 110 knots.
At the 24th assembly of IRGC commanders held on Saturday, August 19, Admiral Tangsiri highlighted the defense and missile achievements of the IRGC Navy. He emphasized that Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz possess sufficient power and strength to ensure the security of the Persian Gulf and this strategic strait.
Despite recent announcements by the US about increasing advanced military equipment in the Persian Gulf as a deterrence against Iran, Iran has announced improvements in its military capabilities within its territorial waters. The US has increased its military forces, including F-16 fighters, F-35 fighters, and other advanced naval vessels and technologies in the Persian Gulf to deter Iran.
In response to these actions, Iranian military officials have warned against what they perceive as “provocative” actions by the United States in the Persian Gulf. On July 19, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani responded to these statements by asserting that “The Islamic Republic is at a stage of authority and capability that no one can threaten it.”
